Synapse Solutions offers targeted ADHD assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. These evaluations are often requested by primary care providers, therapists, psychiatrists, or other professionals to determine whether symptoms align with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) before treatment begins.
These assessments are not comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations. Instead, they are designed to provide timely diagnostic clarification for individuals with minimal co-occurring mental health concerns. The process is streamlined, with results typically available within a few weeks.
This type of evaluation is ideal for individuals whose primary concern is ADHD-related symptoms—such as inattention, impulsivity, or hyperactivity—with few complicating mental health or neuropsychological concerns. If you are experiencing more complex emotional or cognitive challenges, a comprehensive psychological or neuropsychological evaluation may be more appropriate.
Before scheduling, we must receive a referral from a provider (e.g., primary care physician, therapist, psychiatrist, or other clinician). Parent referrals or self-referrals may also be accepted. Once approved, we will contact you to schedule your appointment.
You will be scheduled for a single 2-hour appointment, which will include both the clinical interview and in-person testing. Please have your availability ready when our front desk contacts you.
Questionnaires will be emailed to you or provided through the client portal. These must be completed at least one week prior to your scheduled appointment. Questionnaires help provide a broader perspective and context for your symptoms.
You will meet with one of our licensed counselors for a focused clinical interview to explore symptoms, history, and functioning.
Following your interview, a psychometrist will administer a brief battery of in-person assessments.
Your data will be compiled and reviewed by one of our licensed neuropsychologists. A short clinical summary will be sent to the referring provider with diagnostic impressions and recommendations.
Who Reviews the Results?
While Dr. Dudzek remains actively involved in assessments, we now have multiple neuropsychologists on staff who may review ADHD evaluations.
What Will I Receive?
A formal diagnosis is not guaranteed, but the results will reflect professional impressions based on clinical data and observations. A written summary will be sent to the referring provider. If you would like a copy for yourself or another provider, please complete a Release of Information form.
Medication & Treatment
Our clinic does not prescribe medication. If treatment is needed, your referring provider can use the evaluation results to guide next steps.
