Before an evaluation can be scheduled, a referral must be received and approved. Referrals are typically submitted by a healthcare or mental health provider, psychiatrist, school staff, or case manager. Self-referrals may be accepted for self-pay clients. Once the referral is received, our team will review the information to determine if evaluation services are appropriate and which type of assessment may be recommended.
Once the referral is approved, you’ll be scheduled for an intake appointment with our licensed neuropsychologist, Dr. Dudzek. During this meeting, she will review your personal and clinical history, explore your current concerns, and clarify the goals of the evaluation. This session helps determine the specific tests that will be most helpful for your situation.
After your intake, our front desk will work with you to schedule your testing sessions. Most evaluations require several hours of testing, completed over 2–3 sessions. Please have your calendar available to coordinate the best times for you or your child. Morning testing is typically recommended for children.
You may be asked to complete online or paper-based questionnaires prior to testing. These inventories are important for understanding emotional, behavioral, or cognitive functioning in different settings. They must be completed at least one week before testing or your appointments may need to be rescheduled.
Testing is conducted one-on-one with our trained psychometric technician, Megan. She will guide you through a series of standardized tasks based on the recommendations from your intake. Sessions are conducted in a distraction-free setting—clients are asked to attend without parents or companions present to ensure the most accurate results.
Once your testing and inventories are complete, your data is carefully compiled by our psychometrist and reviewed by Dr. Dudzek. She will thoroughly analyze the results and then meet with you for a one-hour verbal feedback session to discuss her findings. During this appointment, she will explain any diagnoses, review recommendations, and answer any questions you may have. A comprehensive written report summarizing the evaluation and recommendations will be sent to you following the session. With a signed Release of Information and upon request, we can also send the report to any additional providers or individuals you choose to share it with.
